Excel cell formatting not updating
I tested the issue out on a couple of new speedsheets (both saved on the same shared drive) and it's still happening.
Not sure if its just my computer yet, currently testing the issue with different computers.
The TODAY function can be used adding the current date to a worksheet as shown in row two of the image above and in date calculations -- rows three to seven above.
The function, however, is one of Excel's volatile functions which means that it usually updates itself every time a worksheet containing the function is recalculated.
For example, if you want to format a Subtotal, you’ll have to hover your mouse over the edge of the Subtotal until your cursor turns into a black arrow. It seems my pivot table somehow associates formatting with the filter state it was in when that formatting was applied.
In this example, I formatted the pivot table while it was filtered to Southeast.
This means if I change the filter or remove the Filter field altogether, my formatting is blown away.
Slicers seem to be an exception to the filtering rule.
